Redhawks Host Double-Meet Weekend at Show Me Center
Southeast Missouri women's gymnastics will host Illinois State and Centenary in a double-meet home weekend at the Show Me Center Friday and Sunday. SEMO will compete against ISU and Centenary in a tri meet on Friday at 6:30 p.m. before concluding the weekend with a dual against Centenary Sunday at 1 p.m.

Scouting the Opponents
Redbirds
Illinois State most recently upset #18-ranked Iowa State, 194.150-193.875, at Horton Field House on Feb. 21. Cameron Topp tied for first on floor with a 9.875 to lead the way for the Redbird comeback victory. Angelica Labat took home an event win on bars, tying her career high with a 9.875. Isabelle Fox finished second in the all-around and was named MIC Newcomer and Gymnast of the Week on Wednesday.

Ladies
Centenary was scheduled to compete at Texas Woman's on Feb. 21 but the meet was cancelled due to inclement weather. The Ladies most recently registered team scores of 185.725 and 189.925 for a pair of third place finishes on Feb. 7 (TWU & Air Force) and Feb. 13 (Oklahoma & TWU). Kendall Sanders has competed in the all-around competition in both meets, tallying marks of 37.075 and 38.575 (9.750 vault, 9.700 floor).

Kaziska Awarded MIC Performance of the Week
Anna Kaziska was awarded Midwest Independent Conference Performance of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. The honor marks Kaziska's second this season and 11th MIC Weekly honor in her career.

Kaziska, the 2020 MIC Gymnast of the Year, led the Redhawks on floor and beam to win the pair of individual event titles in the final two rotations on Feb. 21 at Lindenwood. The Louisville, Kentucky native, registered a 9.875 on floor before concluding the dual with a 9.825 on beam (second in 2021).

Kaziska has registered a 9.700 or higher on beam in both of the past two SEMO meets. On floor, Kaziska hasn't tallied a mark lower then 9.800.

Redhawks at Lindenwood Dual Recap
SEMO tallied season-highs on floor and beam in the final two rotations to overcome Lindenwood, 194.425-193.000, Feb. 21 at the Robert F. Hyland Arena. Trailing 97.550-96.900, SEMO responded with a 48.850 on floor followed by a 48.675 on beam to conclude the dual and seal the victory.

Season-Highs
SEMO posted 2021 season-bests of 48.850 on floor and 48.675 on beam against Lindenwood on Feb. 21 for a season-high 194.425. Anna Kaziska led the Redhawks on both events with a 9.875 on floor and a 9.825 on beam to win the pair of individual event titles.

Jordan Jones finished second overall on floor at the dual behind Kaziska with a career-best 9.825 in her 2021 season debut. Dahlia Solorzano-Caruso added a 9.775 for fourth at the competition. Molly Maxwell and Lindsey Moffitt compiled season-highs of 9.725 and 9.625, respectively, in the first two lineup spots. Lydia Webb rounded out the SEMO scorers with a 9.650.

The Redhawks completed the comeback with a season-best 48.675 on beam. Freshmen Anna Speller and Lydia Test hit consecutive career-best 9.800s in the second and third Redhawk lineup spots. Alana Fischer chipped in a 9.675 and Jolie Miller finished with a score of 9.575.

Redhawks Season Debut
Jordan Jones finished second overall at the road dual Feb. 21 behind Anna Kaziska with a career-best 9.825 in her 2021 season debut. The sophom*ore from Buford, Georgia, notched the mark in the fourth SEMO lineup slot.

Yeah Z!!
Makenzie Marciniak notched a career-best 9.750 bars set to tie for third at the road dual at Lindenwood on Feb. 21. The mark was Marciniak's first career score of 9.700 or higher as a Redhawk.

Mall Shopping Molly
Molly Maxwell tallied a season-high 9.725 on floor at Lindenwood on Feb. 21. The mark was Maxwell's first score of 9.700 or higher in 2021 and her ninth in her career at SEMO.

Bates Dropping Bars
Lindsey Bates has registered a 9.700 or higher on bars in four of the last five competitions. She led the Redhawks with a career-best tying 9.825 at the GymQuarters Invitational on Feb. 12. Bates received a 9.750 from the first judge and a 9.900 from the second judge for fifth overall at the meet.

In 2021, Bates has also notched a 9.700 at Illinois State (2/6) and a pair of 9.750s against Texas Woman's (1/29) and at the Tennessee Collegiate Classic (1/22). She finished as the runner-up against Texas Woman's after totaling the mark. In her career, Bates has recorded 17 scores of 9.700 or higher.

Jolie, Jolie, Jolie, Jolie
Jolie Miller won the individual bars title with a season-high 9.825 at Illinois State on Feb. 6. Miller captured her second career event title with the mark, competing in the anchor position for the Redhawks. She then finished runner-up on beam with a career-best 9.750.

Miller has registered six scores of 9.700 or higher in 2021 and has 10 in her career at SEMO. She was awarded MIC Performance of the Week on Feb. 10 for her bars title.

Miller most recently tallied 9.775 on bars in back-to-back meets at the GymQuarters Invitational on Feb. 12 and at Lindenwood on Feb. 21.

Our All-Arounder
Dahlia Solorzano-Caruso has represented the Redhawks in the all-around competition in all six meets in 2021 and 17 times in her career at SEMO.

She posted a 38.775 for second overall in the all-around on Feb. 12 at the GymQuarters Invitational. Solorzano-Caruso finished with a 9.700 on vault, a 9.750 on bars, a 9.600 beam and a 9.725 on floor.

Most recently, she tallied an all-around mark of 38.350 at Lindenwood on Feb. 21. She had a 9.775 on floor, 9.700 on vault and 9.725 on bars.

The Courtice, Ontario, Canada native, leads SEMO in 2021 with 17 scores of 9.700 or higher (45 in her career). She has also won five individual event titles (30 in her career) this season and been recognized as MIC Gymnast of the Week twice in 2021.

Redhawks at GQ Invitational Recap
SEMO totaled 191.725 for fourth out of six teams at the GymQuarters Invitational Feb. 12 at The Family Arena. Dahlia Solorzano-Caruso took second overall in the all-around with a total score of 38.775. SEMO opened the meet with a 48.375 on beam. After their first bye, SEMO posted a 47.525 on floor. In their third event of the night, the Redhawks recorded a 47.325 on vault. SEMO concluded the evening with a 48.500 on bars in the final rotation after the team's second bye.

Looking Ahead
SEMO next concludes its 2021 regular season with a tri meet against Lindenwood and Illinois State on Friday, March 12 at Houck Field House. First rotation is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., CT on Senior Night in the Redhawks home finale.
