The Office of Academic Advisem*nt is open Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 4:30 PM with extended hours until 6:30 PM on Wednesday evenings. Please note that the college is closed most Friday’s during the summer months and students should refer to the college calendar for additional information.

New Students
All new students who have applied and been accepted to RCSJ must sign up for a New Student Orientation. During the orientation, students will receive a 30 minute overview of the services the college provides and will conclude with course selection for the upcoming semester(s). Visit the New Student Orientation Bookings page to sign up for the New Student Orientation.

Current Students
If you are a current RCSJ student and looking to register for summer classes or be advised for fall classes, please review the updated list of advising assignments below and make an appointment with your assigned advisor. Please be advised that students will need to bring copies of their high school transcript and test scores with them for assistance with course selection.

Express Advising
Walk-in express advising is available for returning students on-campus in the Student Services Building. Express Advising is available from 9 AM to 4:30 PMwith extended hours on Wednesdays until 6:30 PM. Students who use express advising for course selection need to bring their high school transcript and test scores with them.

Cumberland Advisem*nt

Advisem*nt is located in the Student and Enrollment Services building, next to the cafeteria. Our dedicated and knowledgeable advisors are available to assist you with your academic and career goals. We support student success from your first step on campus through your academic pathway to graduation. Our offices are dedicated to help you navigate obstacles and challenging decisions.

How to Make an Appointment

Students are encouraged to make a virtual or in-person appointment to see their advisor through Starfish or may drop in at any time during normal business hours.

Starfish is accessible through RCSJ-Cumberland’s​ Blackboard

Set up your profile:
  • Login toBlackboard.(Student access to Blackboard Learn is provided on the first day of class.)
  • On the left-hand side under Tools, clickStarfish login.
  • Once you’re in Starfish, fill out your profile!
